On Thursday, a coworker and I went to visit a client’s facility. On the way back he noticed rows of sunflowers on the side of the road in a half maintained garden. He commented, “Nice. Someone has a little sunflower farm.” I asked why he automatically went to that conclusion. I continued, “That is a great example of evolutionary progress. The soil, seeds, insects, and water all wanted to be more organized. The soil did its part by raising itself up and dropping itself down in long runs. The seeds did their part by dropping into the raised soil every so often. Making sure to stay on the raised run of soil the full length that the soil provided it. The good insects made sure to remove the bad insects from the area. They worked to removed the weeds without disturbing the sunflower sprouts…” By this time he wanted to know why I was being crazy. I stopped my fanciful tale and said, “Because where there is order, there is a designer.”
Colossians 1:15-17
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
