Redeeming the Time

S: "Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one." Col. 4:5,6

O:Wisdom, this wisdom comes from God. Therefore, we need to seek God to have the wisdom in how to reach others. I love that I'm learning to understand the word redeem. I read a book in May called Redemption by Karen Kingsbury. The book and scripture have got me thinking and making some connections. Christ is our redeemer. He took our place on the cross so that we could have a relationship with God.

A: Time flies by, and there are so many opportunities that we pass up without knowing it, some purposely, to be Christ-like to others. How do we start to make the most of every opportunity. First, pray to be used by God. Then check your speech. Is it full of grace seasoned with salt? Salt preserves, but it also stings in a wound. So we have to seek God's wisdom in how to careful in how we speak.

Do we pray for wisdom? Do we look for opportunities to serve? Do we pray for stretched time? Do we pray, "God, use me today." Is our speech different or does it look just like the world's? Is our speech full of grace, seasoned with salt, and encouraging others? Or is it complaining, gossiping, or throwing a pity party?

P: Lord, help me to see you moving. Help me to be sensitive to your leading and to redeem the time for your glory.
